In 1987, our family created a new product: a barrel-aged Chardonnay blended with our own brandy liqueur (since Miles knew he wouldn't release a brandy for at least a decade).
This new product needed a name, so we combined the 'CHAR' from Chardonnay + the 'BAY' from brandy.
Eventually we changed our company name to Charbay and the rest is history.
